Even though I cannot change your mind or your heart on the matter, here are some facts that you may not know.
Technology today shows us that a child by 8 weeks of development has developed a heart beat, lungs, nervous system, aspects that many use to define a human life. That "blob of cells" isn't just a blob of cells. That's a baby!
1 in 4 women (between ages of 15-44) have had an abortion, and at this rate, 1 in 3 will have abortions by 2020.
21% of all pregnancies end in abortions. This does NOT include miscarriages.
Jesus will always forgive you of your sins. 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (This is a fact that I find highly relevant since I know that one of four women reading this has had an abortion. Jesus didn't come to condemn the world, but to save the world through him John 3:17)
85% of abortions are for social status.
All people who support abortions were born at some point in their life (Okay, sorry I had to throw that one in there).
The total amount of legal abortions since 1973's Roe vs Wade Court ruling have resulted in more deaths than the combined loss of lives from all of our American wars.
You see, I could go on and on but these facts will not mean anything to you unless you receive God's grace. His grace allows us to understand how valuable life is. His grace says that even if an unwanted child is born in bad circumstances, He still loves that child more than any person ever could, and He can use that child for good! His grace says that even when we have made bad decisions in our lives that have put us in undesirable situations, He still loves us and can redeem us from the darkest of places. His grace says that if we trust in Him, he will give us strength, wisdom, peace, freedom, love and joy. His grace has given me life because he knitted me together in my mother's womb (Psalm 139:13) and He has given me eternal life by sending his Son to save my life dying on the cross and walking out of that tomb. If he can do these things to me, I know he can do it for everyone else.
So I wasn't being fair in thinking that people should see this moral issue for what it is, when they haven't received grace. You can protest at every abortion clinic, you can write hateful comments on Facebook condemning those who have different beliefs, you can win every debate, you can judge, hate, and be angry (like I have done)
Or
We can pray. I'm hoping I too do this more. Because no matter what we do, we cannot change the heart of this nation, but God can.
